Alright, let's sum this review up in 5 words: This cd is freakin' awesome!!!!O.K., now go buy it...go on. Just kiddin', that doesn't make for a very interesting review, so let's give it a spin. First of all, Liberty N' Justice was originally started back in 1991 by Justin Murr. After many ups and downs Murr walked away. In 2002 his fire was renewed and they recorded "Welcome to the Revolution" which featured special guest vocalists such as Michael Sweet, Jamie Rowe, Lou Gramm and more. The album did better than expected. Following the dream in his heart, Murr went into the studio to start recording his next album, "Soundtrack of a Soul". This cd has a list of special guest vocalists you have to hear to believe. First of all, being a rocker in the 80's and 90's, some of my all-time favorite singers appear on this album. So let's rock! The album starts out with a clip from the movie, "School of Rock". (Pretty funny) Track #2 is called "Kings of Hollywood" featuring Ez Gomer of Jet Circus. This is a great rocker, and yes, it features the signature rumbling bass that makes Jet Circus so distinct. Track #3 Is called "Another Nail" featuring Sebastian Bach of Skid Row. This is my favorite song by one of my favorite vocalists. #4 is "State of Grace" featuring Russell Arcara of Surgin/Prophet/Arcara. This is a nice little rocker. Jamie Rowe of Guardian sings track #5 "Malice in Wonderland". This is a nice acoustic ballad done in true Rowe Style. Dale and Troy Thompson of Bride rock the house with "Grenade". Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come for Bride. "Show Me the Way" is the next track and features Oni Logan of Lynch Mob. This is another great rockin' tune. Track #8 is "Sight Unseen" featuring Leif Garrett. This is another nice mid-tempo rocker. Josh Kramer of Saint sings "Up That Hill", a slow rocker. Straying away from the Saint vocal styles, Josh does a nice job. "Surreal" is a fun little skit featuring Scott Wenzyl of Whitecross. Track #11 "Flinch" featuring Tony Harnell of TNT/Starbreaker smokes! Another one of my favorites. Mark Slaughter of Slaughter & Pete Loran of Trixter belt it out on "Thy Will Be Done". Yes, I am a Slaughter fan. Great song. Another of my all time favorite singers, Stephen Pearcy of Ratt, sings "Killer Grin". This song fits him like a glove! Joe Cerisano of Silver Condor/Trans-Siberian Orchestra sings a nice slower rocker "If the World Could Be Mine". Track 15, "Always Tomorrow", featuring Ted Poley of Danger Danger is another mid-tempo rocker. "Hope & Pray / Ballad of King David" is a fun rocker featuring Phil Naro of Talas / Peter Criss Band. Mike Lee of Barren Cross finishes it off with "Make Believe". I have to say, I was really hoping to hear Mike belt out a total smoker. Although the song isn't bad, I was personally disappointed. I'm a big BC fan and would of loved to hear a smoker. The album ends with a word from Justin. This is my favorite release this year. Great production, kickin' songs, some of the best vocalists on the planet! Now! go get it...NOW!!! |
